Christmas Cards

The top picture is one of the Christmas cards I made this year. I used the Cricut cartridge "Joy of the Seasons" and the embossing folder of snowflakes from Cuttlebug.
The bottom card is a modified version of a card I saw on Stephanie Lyn's blog, Under the Table and dreaming. These are my money gifts to grandchildren.

Random Act of Kindness

Here is my somewhat finished product of My Pink Stampers 12 Days of Christmas challenge. It's the top half of a goodie bag. You can put anything in it, like candy, cookies, chapstick, hand warmers, small gloves, even a small Bible. Attach this top to the bag you are putting things in. You can give it to the Salvation Army Bell ringers, passerbys, friends, family, even those people who are standing on the corner homeless. I hope today to get some celephane bags or I may even use ziplock bags.

Have a great day.

The red cardstock is 7x4 1/4
The green background is cut 2.5 x 4
the gloves were cut at 2 x 3 1/4

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Kristine and I have been very busy for a very long time, so we have not been posting any projects. Kristine has been busy with her new dance studio, and I have been rather busy with remodeling a house that we rent out. Yes, I have been removing old floors, stripping cabinets and painting them, as well as painting walls. This project is still on-going. In addition, my husband had some health issues, but he is on the mend now.
I am beginning to get the itch to scrapbook and make cards again. It has been way too long. I am way behind in completing or working on albums and making cards.
I have been to one scrapbook retreat and have been browsing the web for techniques in scrapbooking and card making. So, I am still in the know but not quite in the doing.

Oh wow! I finally found the project I was going film for you guys! Hopefully today or this evening is the time I can do it! I went to a group crop yesterday and as I was opening my bag I found what I had been looking for since we got back from Oklahoma. I can't believe it. I'm so excited to share with you what it is!

See y'all soon

Yes, it's been a long time since our last post. We have been busy. So I have a little free time today and I just might get in my craft room. If I do, I have a few things in mind I would like to make and try. I will see if I can video one for you and post it here. So, let's see if I make it in there today. Wish me luck!

Thank You card

Hi everyone!!

Wow it's been a busy summer for us. We havent been able to post much because we have been on the road a lot this summer.

We have been the Las Vegas, Colorado, Corpus Christi and now about to head out to Oklahoma!

I have a wonderful story to share:

I went to Chick-fil-A today for lunch and went through the drive-thru. I ordered in the drive-thru and before I got to the window to get my food, I was looking for my wallet. Well, I could not find it. It was not in my purse. I continued to the window and I asked if they could hold my food so I can go home and get my wallet then come back and get food. (I live about 15 minutes from this Chick-fil-A) The girl at the window said, don't worry, it's okay, just come back later to pay. She continued to give me my order and I am apologizing and thanking them all at the same time. She gave me the receipt and said just come back later. I said okay, but it won't be until 2:30 but I WILL come back to pay. She said okay. I was so impressed with their faith I would come back and pay that as soon as I got home I made them a card to thank them. Below you can see it.

I used red cardstock cut at 5.5x8 inches
white and black and pink cardstock for the cow
I used Create a Critter Cart
I cut it with the Cricut create

Photo Album using vinyl

Hi everyone,

Hope yall are having a great saturday! The weather is beautiful here in Texas!

I made a video a few days ago using vinyl. A couple of ladies in my husbands office are pregnant and one is having a girl and the other is having a boy. So I made them each a starter photo album for the little one.

Hope you enjoy it.

Remember, this is the first video I edited using iMovie, so it may be a little choppy.

What's in your craft room???

Hey everyone,

I was at my mothers picking up her new Expression 2 and decided to have some fun at the same time. I was trying to find an excuse to go into her craft room (basically to show it off). So I came up with a "game" I call "What's in your craft room?". So I made a video of it. Now it is a little bit shakey and I moved around a bit too fast. But it was fun.

Hope you enjoy it.

Gypsy is Back!!

Hey everybody!

Got my gypsy back! So excited. I received it with a new set of accessories. Charger, stylus, case, booklets, etc. It looks brand new. It has been de-synched, meaning I can put my carts back on without any problems. I hope to do that really soon.

I have been busy SPRING CLEANING. I have been cleaning out closets, cabinets drawers, and even will be starting to clean out my craft room. I need a name for it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I did do a short video on what it looks like now. I probably wont post it until I get it organized. Which hopefully will be soon.

I have a very busy weekend planned. We have our daughters first softball game saturday at 8. My boys dirt bike race is saturday starting at 9. Then our local scrapbooking group has it's 5th anniversary saturday. THEN, my middle son has PROM! I don't know how I'm gonna get all that in, but I will try my best!

Good news: Hazel purchased the new Expression 2 last night. She is so excited!! Me too! It should be in in about two weeks. Maybe another video on the grand opening of the E-2???? We'll see!.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Early Mother's Day Gift

A while back I mentioned to my husband about a new Cricut that was coming out soon.
He asked about it, and stated that if I wanted it, he would buy it for me for my Mother's Day gift from him. Of course, that was one gift I definitly would not refuse! I proceded to describe the infamous Cricut Expression 2, and also included words such as, "You really don't have to get it if you don't want to spend the money," while thinking all the time, "please, please get it for me." (LOL)
I can say that I do own the smaller Cricut as well as the Cricut Imagine. I like the Cricut Imagine, but have spent very little time using it. I have not purchased any new cartridges since I have owned it, too expensive. I have not seen any of the cartridges for the Imagine on sale like other cartridges. I am not totally thrilled with the ones that came with the Imagine.
Anyway, back to this story. As soon as the EXPRESSION 2 came on HSN at 12:05 eastern time (11:05 p.m., Texas time), I placed my order! My E2 will be here by May 6th. I am very excited about this. I like that it is like the first Expression, except more advanced. I don't own the first Expression, so I am very, imperatively excited about getting the EXPRESSION 2. Thanks, Honey, for such a wonderful gift! You did good!

Sell Out!

Hey everyone,

Hazel (my mom)and I went to a scrapbook store that is closing. We went Wednesday afternoon. It's called Woven Heart. It is located in Lake Charles, LA, about an hour away from where we live. This store is closing it's doors due to the store owner deciding to spend more time with her new grandbaby.

Anyway, we went, and we were on a mission. :) I, personally, had my eye on some fixtures, particularly, some paper stands to hold all my paper in a more organized way. I also got a couple small displays for my glitter, stickels, and embossing powders. Also I got one for my new pens. I love it! My mom got a pen holder too and about 6 paper display shelves. She also purchased some ink, pens, paper, buttons, a few stamps, stickels, and I can't remember what else. It was fun looking at everything. All was 40% off. Not too bad. The lady who owns it is very sweet. I could tell she was definitely going to miss having her scrapbook shop.

Anyway, as soon as we get our craft rooms more organized with our new shelves and displays, maybe we will show you a video of what and how we organize it.

Have a great Easter

Okay! I will try this again. For the 3rd time today, I have tried to post a new post. This computer would not post it.
So I will try to do it again.

I am currently working on the Yudu! Finally! I have been trying to find time to play with it. I purchased it a Michaels when they had it on a one day sale only for $99. Well, I have had to purchase emulsion remover, more ink, a few transparencies and who knows what else. Oh I do know it only comes with 2 emulsion sheets and one transparency. The screen is 15x12. Most tranparencies are 10 1/2 x 8. I did find some 19x14 (i think that was the size) at Office Depot.

I tried it once already to burn the image into the screen. Well, no luck. I guess the emulsion was bad or old because it did not stick to the screen completely when I finished burning the image into the screen. When I went to rinse the emulsion off to expose the image, most of the "black out" came off to. That will allow the ink to seep through where I don't want it to. So I have started over with the 2nd piece of emulsion and we will see how it turns out.

Wish me luck

Yudu! Yudu! Yudu!

I bought a Yudu today from Michaels. It was only $99. That's $200 off!! Can you believe that?? Wow! What a deal!
It was part of the recent one day sale they are having. If you want one, better go get it. I can't wait to get it out and start
playing with it. Some suggestions: Don't jump right into it thinking you know how it works. Read the directions carefully. Watch the instructional DVD that comes in the box. Doing these things will make it much easier to learn how to operate the Yudu. If you don't, you may end up getting frustrated with it because it's not doing what it is supposed to do.

Hopefully soon I will be able to get it out and learn then play with it. I will let you know of any pointers I come up with.

Stay tuned.

P.S. My mom and I went in on it together, because my husband doesn't know. :)

I'll be missing my Gypsy!

Hey everyone,

I talked with Provo Craft this morning and told them what happened to my gypsy and after giving them my serial number on the back of the gypsy, they said I could send it to them and it will take about 2 weeks to repair or send me back a new one. I LOVE THIS COMPANY!! They are so good to work with. So in a couple days I'll be sending my gypsy to them. It will be sorely missed but totally worth the wait of a new one.

So, I will be working without my gypsy for the next two weeks.

Nellie's Cottage Retreat

Got back from Scrapbook retreat in Vidor Tx. It was a whole lotta good ole fun! Although, I was not having very good luck using my Gypsy. It just wouldn't recognize that is was plugged into the Expression. So I had to hold it in to make the connection to cut anything out. Well, that didnt last very long before the whole part in the Gypsy just fell inside the Gypsy. I don't have any idea how it just fell through, but I do know I'll be making a call to Provo Craft tomorrow. I'l be sad that I will have to send it off. It will be missed dearly.

Anyway, we had a great time this weekend. The food, company and scrappin' ideas where awesome!! Hope we can do this at least once a year. It is such a quiet place to work in. Except when all us ladies get to talking smack. There was a lot of giggling, laughing and silliness going on there.

Well, as soon as I find out what the plans are for my Gypsy, I will let you know.

Have a great week,

Cartridge Link to Gypsy

Just a short video I decided to do today. Hope this helps those who haven't linked a Cricut Cartridge to their Gypsy yet.

The 2 Pink Ladies

Hi everyone!

Sorry it's been a while since we have posted anything on the blog. I (Kristine) have been out with the kids for spring break this week. I have been catching up on all the fun household things this week and spending alot of time with my kids. I have been wanting to work on my embroidry machine this week but havent had that "right" time to sit down with it. This week I worked on a tag swap and put those in the mail Monday. Also, my daughters are participating in a Relay for Life Pageant saturday and we have brought their dresses in for some alterations. We will be picking them up today. They are very excited about this pageant. It's their first one.

My mom (Hazel) has been getting her hair cut, working on tags and also working on cards for them to send to military for them to send to their families here in the states. In between that, she has also been working on re-organizing her craft room. Looking good. She now has space to actually work on her projects. I'm excited for her. She has done all this while still caring for my dad. He had hip surgery and has had several issues come up recently but he is doing much better (yeah) and now she is feeling better about leaving him for a couple hours every once in a while.

So that is a long update on what's been going on with us.

I hope to get more videos up and running next week, so stay tuned.

Thanks,

Houndstooth Vinyl Video

Hello yall,

Here is a video I made today using the Houndstooth vinyl I purchased from Craftvinyl.com. I made some flip flops using the Pink Journey Cart to send to my sister in Alabama. I'm sure everyone from AL knows exactly how priceless the houndstooth pattern is. My sister loves the pattern. So she asked me to make this for her. Hope you enjoy it.

The Last of the Gypsy Tutorials part 7

So here ya go. The last of the gypsy tutorials. Hope you got something out of them.

Thanks,

The 2 Pink Ladies

Hello!

I've got the last gypsy tutorial video uploading to youtube. I should have it up by tonight.

Let me know if there are any questions you have regarding the videos or the gypsy. If there is something you would like me to demo in particular I will do a video on that also. Please leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

It's been a long week even though the kids didn't have school Monday. The weather here has been great up 'til today. Now it's just plain dreary outside with rain in the forcast tonight.

I'm about to take my girls to dance, but I wanted to let you know what's been going on.

Everyone have a great evening and weekend and look for the last video about the gypsy tonight.

Thanks,

Birthday Gnomes

Today is my birthday! It has been a wonderful day! I have received birthday wishes, cards, and gifts from family and friends. Here are some pictures of some gnomes that Kristine gave me for my birthday and the card she made.
I had told her of about some gnomes that I had painted for my mom many, many years ago. When she passed away, the gnomes were about the only thing that I wished I had gotten from her. But, my stepfather's daughter decided that since her ailing father was still alive she had the rights to everything left by my mother. So, I only received a few personal pictures. Kristine found some gnomes and gave them to me for my birthday.
The gnome with the card is not much taller that the card. I have decided that one will travel with me. The other gnome standing next to the mushroom is 13" tall. He will be the "guard" of the other gnomes in my future gnome garden.
Thanks for stopping by,
Hazel

Gypsy Tutorial: Part 1

Hey Everyone!

I made a video for y'all to learn how to operate the Gypsy. I hope this helps. Some of you probably already know a lot about the Gypsy, but just in case you don't, I hope I covered everything you need to know about it...button by button.

Also, don't forget to check back with us at least every other day for the next Gypsy video. I hope to have one up every other day. Sometimes it may not work that way due to my heavy family schedule, but I will try my best.

Sorry that the 2 pink ladies have not posted anything since December. We will get back with y'all as soon as things settle down on the home front. My husband, Kristine's dad, had a stroke, and he is our first concern right now. He is in rehab and is recovering nicely.
